Edit an existing WCB claim using WCB Claim Record screen

 

To edit an existing WCB claim, change the needed fields and click Save to save the changes. Note that some fields are not available for editing in an existing claim.

 

 

When WCB Claim Number, Injury Date, and Treatment Info are not available for editing 

 

WCB Claim Number, Injury Date and Treatment info sometimes are not available for editing in existing claims. Namely, this information cannot be edited if the claim has at least one submitted or accepted invoice.

 

If WCB accepted at least one invoice, editing of claim info is prohibited for good because it would cause discrepancy between the first and following invoices.

 

If invoice has been submitted but no remittance from WCB has been received yet, editing will be blocked temporarily and will be available for further corrections if the first submitted invoice is rejected.

 

Note that blocking WCB Claim Number, Injury Date and Treatment Info do not prevent you from creating and submitting new invoices.

 

The blockage just prevents you from creating any discrepancy in claim info between related invoices.

When Contact Info is not available for editing 

 

To prevent accidental data loss, Contact Info is protected for editing in existing claims. However, to reflect patients’ address changes, this information can be edited any time except while any invoices are in process. To change Contact Info, just clear the check box “Lock Contact Info.”
